Full Steam Ahead Fundraising Campaign
The BC Forest Discovery Centre has for many years offered a ‘Steam Train Excursion’ featuring locomotives built at the turn of the previous century and used in the forest industry.
The excursion features a 2.5 km narrow gauge track system that winds its way through a 100 acre wooded forest area dotted with many artifacts that the industry both used and developed.
This attraction has been the mainstay of the BC Forest Discovery Centre for years and is the focal point of most family visits.
Both steam locomotives and the overall track system are in need of serious capital attention. One locomotive has been idle for several years requiring a new boiler, while the other unit has been in service for 17 years without a major refit. The estimated capital requirement is in excess of $200,000.
Your donations to our railway capital fund will ensure that we can continue to maintain and operate our heritage logging railway.
