The BC Forest Discovery Centre launches its 2026 season with the Easter Eggspress! It is a three-day event featuring the annual Easter Scavenger Hunt for families in and visiting the Cowichan Region. “This event has been a popular spring tradition for more than ten years and was so popular that we had to expand for the long weekend. With this being our first event for the 2026 season, we are excited and looking forward to seeing our regular members, businesses, and families making this and many of our events their annual traditions. We are so looking forward to being open for the three days to celebrate Easter,” says Carol Miller, BC Forest Discovery Centre manager.

The Easter Eggspress will offer unlimited rides aboard the family favorite, Green Hornet train, goodie bags for those who complete the scavenger hunt, and an educational experience for attendees. The Station concession will be open, offering snacks and beverages.

Admission is $8 for children 3–12 years (2 and under are free) and $14 for adults, and seniors and youth are $12.

Tickets are only available for purchase at the door.

This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, Sunday and Easter Monday from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Goodie bags will be provided for children who complete the scavenger hunt. The Easter Eggspress is a fun way to kick off the new season. The Easter Scavenger Hunt is just the beginning of a season full of special events. Other events planned for the 2026 season include Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Canada’s Birthday, the Antique Truck Show, Kid’s Day, Labour Day and, of course, our popular Halloween Train and Christmas Express. Additionally, the BC Forest Discovery Centre staff will likely add a few surprise days and exhibits throughout the year.
