Volunteer at the Centre

Would you like to get involved with the BC Forest Discovery Centre?

Our volunteers have been the life-blood of the Centre for over 50 years and are truly unsung heroes. A very special thank you to all!

There are many volunteer opportunities available including special events, education program, artifact restoration, and construction. We welcome new volunteers all the time!

Please contact us for more information about volunteering at the museum.

The volunteers of the BC Forest Discovery Centre give a very special, precious gift on a regular basis – their time! 2015 saw more than 9,000 recorded hours donated to the BC Forest Discovery Centre’s projects and events. There are many times our volunteers come in and don’t record their hours; we think they are just having too much fun to bother with paperwork.

The museum is looking for volunteers for the following departments:

Education: Do you enjoy working outdoors and with children?

The BC Forest Discovery Centre’s education program needs volunteer tour guides to deliver ecology and heritage program. Full training is provided and commitment level is flexible.

Special Events: Meet new people and have fun at popular community events by volunteering at the BC Forest Discovery Centre’s special events. There are happening monthly throughout the spring and summer. Father’s Day, Truck Show, Canada Day, BC Day, the Halloween Train, and the Christmas Express have a great atmosphere and allow you to be involved with a valuable community organization without a large time commitment. Typical events include volunteers in the following areas: parking lot attendants, concession, children’s activities, programming, and set up.
